Giveaway Weekend is Here!

The Winners have been announced HERE!

Tuesday Night - Edited to add: I have been sick.....Yeah, we will talk about that later. Comments are still open. I will announce the winners on Wednesday.

If you are reading this I am in the Great Smoky Mountains with my wonderful husband having the time of my life! I didn't want to leave you all behind with nothing fun to do around here, so I decided on a fun little giveaway. For every 10 comments I will give away 1 pattern from my shop. So if there are 50 comments I will giveaway 5 patterns, this way everyone has a good chance of winning if they enter. The more comments the more fun we will have! To enter all you have to do is make me smile or laugh. Yes! That's all! I had this idea of going on my trip and getting all of these funny happy emails from all of my favorite people when I check my iPhone. Then all of you could get a good laugh reading through the comments! It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a funny little something that your kid said, a corny Laffy Taffy joke (I love those), your favorite saying or joke, or something funny that happened to you.... doesn't matter!

Here is one of my favorite You Tube videos to get ya laughing! I will announce the winners here on Tuesday.... See you all soon!

{PS. Remember to leave an email address and the name of the pattern you want. And if you have some extra time to browse you can check out all of my Blog Followers at the end of my side bar! It's such a fun new feature!}

I am squishing those little tiny ants that are crawling on my computer as I sit here and read this. Does that count as funny, maybe I will have better material tomorrow. (Madeline 5t)

I was just looking at the Miss Madeline pattern and clicked over to your blog and here is a giveaway--so that is the pattern I'm hoping for!! To make you laugh: yesterday at dinner we were talking about/trying to crack our knuckles. My 3-year-old daughter said, "I can't do that, I can only do the church." (as in here is the church, here is the steeple, open the doors and see all the people). My husband almost fell off his chair laughing, so maybe you'll giggle a little too!

I've been waiting for the warmer weather and eyeing the Miss Madeline in the bigger sizes. My 3 yr old told me this morning she was making dinner tonight-chicken on the bone (what my girls call roast chicken) and broccoli. She's cooking it in her Dora kitchen in 20 hours. She already made my breakfast in her kitchen-yogurt and coffee :)

I have a habit of sitting in my car after church (while my husband talks FOREVER) and honking my horn at unsuspecting people when they walk by. I don't do it at old people just a few specific people. One of the boys is 13yrs old and is trying to be cool and grown up but when I honk my horn at him he screams like a girl.

I'm should be ashamed but it is soooo funny!

I already have the Molly pattern and would love Miss Madeline in the larger sizes.

Have fun on your trip. There is some GREAT quilting stores in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forege. My favorite is Machine Quilting by IVA in Sevierville. It is fabric heaven.

Hi Samantha--If Frosty the Snowman and a vampire had a baby, what would they call it??

Frostbite.

I'm in Wisconsin. It's cold here. Do you miss WI??

I don't know what pattern I want, other than the new on you're working on drafting so that some of it can be pattern testers. THAT's the one I want. :) (Am I starting to sound like a nag yet??? LOL)

Hi Samantha,
I hope you have a great time!

Here is a joke I just read.

Why don't many blind people sky dive?
It scares the dog too much

I'd love to win the larger Miss Madeline pattern. :)
Hi, I have admired your patterns for a long time and would be the happy owner of any of them but if I win I think I'd start out with the Miss Molly...looks too cute
You can reach me on my blog http://www.oneboyonegirlboutique.blogspot.com

As for something funny, let me try to think while I sit here at noon still in my pj's LOL.
Ok, online today I read something that I thought was funny and true
"If my house is clean my computer must be broken"

The other funny thing I can come up with is...I live in Florida and this morning our water pipes were frozen. My hubby went out in his robe and used my hair dryer to defrost the pipes. That was something to see!

Have fun on your trip :)

Well, my little girls (2 and 4) were playing a game when I told them to wash up for dinner. "In a minute, we need to finish the game!" was the reply. Hey, I asked "Who is the boss around here!" Without hesitation my 2 yr old replied "God". "Well, yes, He is, but I am number two so get going!" I thought that it was a pretty funny answer though. :)
Oh, and I would love the Miss Molly dress - it is adorable, as are all of your patterns!
Thanks,

I am a homeschooling mom of four little girls...never a dull moment.

Lately one of the twins has started asking "why" to everything...Everything! My other children had never done this so it has been trying.

It's time to go to bed: "why"
Please pick that up: "why"
you need to drink your milk: "why"

Finally I had enough and told her no more saying why, it's too much and mommy doesn't like to hear why so many times in a day. Her reply "what, what mommy...I say what"

"No, you just need to stop asking why about everything"

"what"

"No, just why"

"what, mommy, I ask what"

so now when I say it's time to pick up: "what"
time to lay down for a nap: "what"
please drink your milk: "what"

Kids can be such stinkers! I feel like I walk through my days as part of an Abott and Costello (sp?) routine.

So far as a pattern, I would love to have either size of Miss Madeline. It's a great looking dress that covers appropriately...harder and harder to find anymore.

We get daily laughs from our cheeky toddler - her recent antics include licking the cat, bossing around her big sisters, and approaching strangers and poking them before starting up a conversation. (I'd love the Miss Madeline is little sizes - thanks for the chance!)

My son recently told my nieces that he likes to eat earwax...ok, so maybe that's just gross, but I think that it was an early attempt at humor that still cracks those girls up. I would love the Madeline pattern, I've been thinking about getting it...

Hmmm we're having a napless day today, so the funnyies are few and far between, but what made me smile this morning was hearing my 9 1/2 month old daughter repeatedly call the cat "dada." LOL

I'd love Miss Madeline in the smaller sizes if I win! :)

Hope you are having a wonderful time -- the mountains must be beautiful! I love the Miss Madeline dress pattern that I've used for my daughter so much that now I'm hoping to get it in the smaller sizes as well.

Here's my daughter's favorite knock-knock joke to keep you smiling:

Knock, knock!
Who's there?
Interrupting cow.
Interru --
MOOOOOOOOO!

Now, if you are five years old, as she is, repeat every hour or two ad infinitum...

I have most of your patterns already....Can I have an IOU for Miss Lilly?? :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. A lot. really.

As for the funny, Um, My 3 year old got a Cinderella Barbie for Christmas. I have resisted Barbie, but finally caved. She immediately undressed her and said "Mom! She has milkers (what my breastfed kids call breasts)." I confirmed that yes indeed, Cinderella does have breasts, and she said "Well, where is the baby to drink the milkers?? Do you think she is sold separately?" Yes, we have now drastically reduced or TV viewing! LOL

Do you know what is funny? No, actually it is sad. I've been trying to think of something funny to type here since first thing this morning. Still nothing! Can I still be entered in the drawing even though I am not funny?!

I just came across your blog this past week and immediately fell in love with the Miss Madeline dress. So much in love, that I emailed several people yesterday with a link to it! Just had to share the love! Anyway, I would love to get the larger size Miss Madeline pattern. Thanks!

I hope you're having a great time! I'd love a chance to win a Miss Molly pattern in the smaller size, I adore that pattern. My funny story is that I made my wedding dress in the three days before my wedding. On the way to the church in the bridal car I had little Miss Five who was my flowergirl chatting away to me. One of the bridesmaids said to me jokingly "Marlya next time you get married, give yourself more time than three days to make the dress!" Miss Five looked confused and said "No, you can just wear this one again" and pointed to my dress. I laughed so hard-- I hadn't even got married the first time yet!!

Oh my! I just came here from The Homespun Heart. She made the Madeline dress for her little ones and I am in complete love!

Our recent funny (that we're still laughing about): my little boy (4 tomorrow) has been on a streak. His little sister got sores on her feet from a pair of shoes and while Daddy and I were taking care of the sores I asked him to give me a q-tip. Jonathan was more than happy to do so all the while professing very loudly and heroic like, "Jonathan Doctorman! Jonathan Doctorman!" Yep, no need for superman, spiderman, batman or any other "...man" in this house. We have "doctorman".

I can't wait to browse through your blog.
Thanks for offering this give-away.

There are some great jokes above. Here is mine to add to the list:

A senior citizen couple is sitting in their livingroom talking about their life as newlyweds. The wife gets all worked up thinking about it and says "Honey, let's run upstairs and make love right now!" The husband replies, "I can one do one or the other!"

Hope you are having a good time on your trip. Reading through all the comments has given me a lot of laughs and reminded me of my kids a few months back. Both my kids have been breastfed and as my daughter started getting her own dolls both my son (3) and my daughter (1) started carrying the dolls around under their shirts like they were breastfeeding the babies. It was cute! I enjoy reading your blog and your patterns are so cute. I would love the Miss Madeline (my daughter's name, plus I love the dress) in the smaller size.

Hello! I just discovered your blog and your patterns and am so glad I found you! I am just beginning to sew myself (though my mother is a master seamstress so I feel somehow her skills were absorbed into my brain throughout my childhood.) I am in love with sewing especially now that I have 2 little girls of my own and want to make them adorable matching dresses. You have just the style that I love! Anyway something to make you smile:
The other day my 5-yr-old son was quietly coloring at the table when he suddenly said, "We need to turn on some music!" So my 3-year-old daughter immediately said, "OK!" And she then began to sing loud and clear her own little tune with the words, "Na na na na!" as she skipped around. It was so funny. I think we were all thinking my son meant for us to hook up the iPod or something, but our daughter's version of turning on some music was much better!
If I were to be a lucky winner, I would love the Miss Madeline pattern for 6 mos to 4 years. It's so sweet! PS, I am so looking forward to the upcoming Miss Lily pattern too! Just gorgeous! elizabethjex@hotmail.com

Hope you're having a great time! I have the Madeline pattern and have used it numerous times, now I need the Molly pattern in the smaller sizes....

Sweet...my 19 month old wakes every morning singing "Hallelujah, Halelujah" It was part of a song from the kids Christmas program at church and she heard my son sing it so much that now she sings it ALL the time!

Funny....my 5yr old son's joke: What happens when a snake eats a penguin? He's just going to spit him out!

I'm not sure this will make you smile or laugh, but I will certainly try. BTW, hope you are having a fabulous time (I'm just a wee bit jealous.)

My husband took the kids to the pool a few weeks ago. Later he was grumbling about the girls pants being the same. Which is true, they are the same, but different size. Which I mentioned to him. "Yea, Melissa said hers have a 6 in them so I looked and they both have a 6, one just has a little 'x' beside it." To me it was funny, just picturing him trying to puzzle that one out. What is obvious to a woman, not so much for a guy. :-)

If I would be so lucky to win, I would love the Miss Madeline in the larger sizes - I love that pattern!

My 2 year old son mimics his 4 year old sister constantly. On Christmas we stopped by Uncle Terry's house to drop something off. As soon as he opened the door to greet the kids, Caleb yelled "I da princess".
We've been working on "I'm a man!" now.

I hope you are have a delightfully relaxing time away.

The little girl that I nanny has blond hair and is always cracking me up with the things that she says. When she was 2 1/2 years old she was spinning/twirling around in the middle of my living room. Then she says "Hey look, I'm a ditsy blond" instead of I'm a dizzy blond. I just laughed and couldn't figure out how I could explain to her the difference.

I hope that your trip is very restful and relaxing.

What a great giveaway idea. I really like the Madeline dresses.

I already posted a sweet and funny, but I have to tell I got the best compliment yesterday off an outfit I made my daughter and it included your Madeline dress. I shortened the Madeline to a top and made it with cherry fabric with black background. I did the waistband and matching pants in a black and small white dots fabric. It's super cute and everywhere she goes she gets compliments about it. Yesterday we were at a birthday party and my friend's cousin just about ripped it off of her when we walked in. She talked through the entire party about the top. This girl is 19 years old and I had to pay attention or she would have stole Emily's right off of her! Then when we got home I took something to my neighbor and Emily followed me, my neighbor seen her and GASPED then said I HAVE to make one for her daughter!

Oh and something funny....my son is in kindergarten and when I picked him up from school on inaugeration day, he said, "We have a new President momma, That Bomb Man." Even though we have corrected him, that is what he insists on calling him.

Hi Samantha,
I've been following your blog for several months and have even purchased the Madeleine pattern last fall. I'd love to win your Molly pattern in a size 6, but I'm terrible at remembering jokes. I was thinking about my pastor, who can't miss sneaking a joke or funny story into every sermon. Speaking of church, a funny thing happened when my nephews, Daniel age 8 and Adam age 6, moved to a new town and started attending a new church. Daniel was really shy, and after the collection was taken up, he began to stress out about taking communion in front of this big congregation of strangers. He kept changing his mind from taking communion or not taking communion, until finally Adam chirped up, "Daniel, you have to take communion - you done paid for it."

Hi Samantha.

Hope you are having a wonderful trip! I have a good story for you. My daughter got a barbie car for her birthday last year (she was turning 4). My son,6, went up and got her a barbie from her room to put in the car. She was missing her top and he commented on what big muscles she had on her chest. You can guess where he was pointing. :)

I'd love a Miss Molly. How is that new pattern coming? I can't wait to test it!!! So exciting.

Have a good trip!

Our neighbours Grandad passed away last week and we were having a chat to our five year old about it.
Joseph," I don't want to be buried in the ground"
Dad,"It's only your outerbody that is buried, your spirit fly's up to be with God in Heaven"
Joseph,"But how do you know when you are going to die?, does God come down from heaven and whisper in you ear to run out in front of a car?
Just laughing now.
We have obviously said "get off the road, the cars will run you over." way too many times.
Oh, I'd love miss madeline in the small pattern.

Hi Samantha!! Here's a link to my *FAVORITE* Miss Madeline dress I've made - and the easiest! http://www.finestitchery.com/apps/webstore/products/show/326742
I did add a flounce on the bottom but left off the sleeves and the empire waistband. I need to send pictures to you since I can't figure out how to load them into Flickr! duh!
And yeah - whatever happened to Miss Lilly? I was going to test that for you over Thanksgiving weekend!! yikes!

Ok - you wanted a funny and I just got off the phone with my 'baby' - when she was about 6 we were driving in the car and she was telling us how at her new school she told them we were Jewish. Her older brother and sister about jumped out of their skins JEWISH?!?!! We're not Jewish we're Catholic! She replied with yeah, but we love Jesus and he was Jewish, so we must be Jewish!

Hmmm - the logic of a 6yo! Who is now a software developer! LOL!!

Ok - if I 'win' give my pattern to the next person down - I already have them *ALL*!!! Lucky me!!

Found this one the other day...

According to a news report, a certain private school in Victoria,
BC recently was faced with a unique problem.

A number of grade 12 girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints.

Every night, the maintenance man would remove them and the next day, the girls would put them back.

Finally the principal decided that something had to be done.
She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night.

To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required.

He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it.

Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

I love the Miss Madeline dress and have been contemplating getting it so I can make one for my niece. :)

Are you sick of paying good money for movies that are scratched minutes after you take them from the case? Do you often wish that we could just go back to VHS because you could leave them out in the rain, bring them in and use them for a coaster, and then let the baby throw it for fun and it would STILL WORK!? We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo.
