On this Saturday afternoon....

(Picture taken by Daddy while Mama was away at market.)

....I totally need to get up off of my lazy rear and do some laundry, clean the bathrooms, straighten up the loft, find a place for the fifty something butternut squash in my pantry, make more tomato sauce to freeze, put up some okra, make the kids clean their rooms really good, drink more water, dust, sweep, mop, blah blah blah blah blah blah.......but since it is Saturday.....maybe I'll just drink more water (and maybe another cup of coffee) while I tell the kids to "load up" (that means everyone get in the van and buckle up) and we can head to the thrift store and hunt for treasures! I'm so leaving this mess for another day, I'm positive it will still be here waiting for me when I get back. What are you doing or not doing on this lovely Saturday afternoon?

Wish I lived close enough, I'd love to go on a treasure hunt this afternoon. :)
Hope you find some goodies.

I'm hoping to do some sewing and/or knitting. Some laundry and cooking will eventually get done though.

Today I'm hoping that this thick fog will burn off so we can walk to the beach. Other than that, I'm just relaxing and enjoying a lazy summer day. :)
Nursing my sweet boy. I love this 4-week-old cuddly time and I'm appreciating it a lot more since it seemed so fleeting with Sarah.

Oh yeah, and I took both kids to the grocery store so hubby could have an hour to himself. I might get a little sewing in while the kids are sleeping this afternoon. :)

Working on laundry, did the dishes, cleaned up most of the kitchen, off to the grocery once hubby gets home from playing frisbee golf. About to go have some pita chips and hummus and relax in front of the tv for a few minutes while kids are down for a nap. If I'm lucky I may get a little sewing done and possibly some canning.

sounds fun! I was supposed to go to these big water slides a few hours from here but the poor babes is getting her eye teeth in and has a fever and is on a whole new level of grouchiness so we are staying home a cuddling, cleaning, blogging, and hopefully making some birthday invitations.

I'm all for ditching the chores to hunt thrift shops!! Infact I'd probably be doing the same thing if our car hadn't died and I already hit the in walking distance thrift store a few days ago!
Love that your husband lets the kids play in the mud! Mine freaks out a little!

Your kids are having a blast!
I did clean house all day, well the part of it that I wasn't at the nursing home visiting with my mom. I had to clean though, because I haven't in forever and we are going to have company coming soon!

The Handmade Dress Infomercial: Do you suffer from scrached DVD's?

Do your children cry when they can't watch their favorite movie because of irritating scratches? Are you sick of paying good money for movies that are scratched minutes after you take them from the case? Do you often wish that we could just go back to VHS because you could leave them out in the rain, bring them in and use them for a coaster, and then let the baby throw it for fun and it would STILL WORK!? ME TOO ! . We have struggled for years with scratched movies that were no longer watchable, but not anymore! We have finally found the secret formula to rid you of this nasty little problem forever! . Crest Kids Toothpaste! YES, that's what I said! Kids toothpaste! . A few months back I heard some place that toothpaste would take of scratches and I tried it and it didn't work, then the other day out of pure desperation I tried it my way. IT WORKED! So I decided this kind of news could not be kept secret, I have to tell the world! So I

New triple bunks.

Ben designed new bunk beds for the "girl's dorm" and "boy's dorm" in our house. We LOVE them!! We are almost done with all of the work, just a few loose ends left to tie up, but I couldn't wait to show off his handy-work. This is the girl set. We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo. The kids LOVE these beds! And oh the space we have now! I'll be back soon with finished pictures! xo, Sam If any of you make beds using these plans could you send us a picture? We
