Saturday Afternoon

I do believe that this is the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon....

....hand embroidery, a good Jane Austin movie that I've seen at least a hundred times, and flavored coffee. It just couldn't get much better.

It's been so long since I have done shadow work embroidery that I almost forgot how much I love it. I plan to have a lot more of these days this summer. I need more days like this. What are you going to make more time for this summer? You know they say if you write it down that you are more likely to follow through. Well I've written mine down! This will be the summer of embroidery. Come on, what will it be? Write it down here and we will hold each other to it.....xo, Sam

P.S. The giveaway post will be up on Monday.

Oh, that's lovely - shadow embroidery is so fun, yes?

For me, this will be the summer of getting organized and tossing things out. I fully intend to have a MASSIVE yard sale come August.

Your embroidery is beautiful. I really would love to take an embroidery class to learn the right way to do it. I remember as a young girl doing embroidery projects every summer.

For me, this summer will be to try an reorganize and get things better suited to our homeschooling for when we start back up in August.

I'm planning to work on a crocheted baby blanket for a dear friend of mine. (And pack my house up for the move in July...)

I have an embroidery sewing machine...I want to sell it...the reason is that I so much enjoy doing the embroidery by hand! My summer plans: 1 wk at Bible Camp, 1wk at Creation{West}- in between vacations: sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, picking out high school curriculum for my boys.

Loving the embroidery, but loving my patterns even more. Thank you!!!!

Sarah and I got fabric last week and I cut out Miss Molly but this novice forgot to buy purple thread! As much as I would love to learn hand embroidery, I am loving learning to sew. Maybe when I am as good as you, I can start picking up something else. hehe

This summer I want to do more smocking. I love it but rarely take the time to do it anymore. So, this will be the summer of smocking!

So Sam, what movie did you watch?

I need to do a lot more sewing this summer. Smocked jumpers are high on the list.

Hi Sam :)
For me, this summer (winter, actually, because I live in Australia) I'm hoping to finish knitting my scarf, knit scarfs for 2 friends' birthdays, crochet a blanket, sew a skirt or a dress, plant some vegies and read the Narnia series. Yes, I'm 16 LOL.
I was wondering, have you ever thought of doing some dresses or skirts for teenagers? Because I know I would really wear your stuff and as a teenager, I'm always looking for things that are classic and genuine and just really nice things to wear. Just a thought :)

That is just beautiful!
I'm hoping to start some quilt squares this winter (summer is too far away for us!) - We did a friendship quilt for our pastors wife who is moving & I had so much fun doing that that I want to do some more!
Have fun
