What do you think of our new little Miss?

These are the first two "test runs" for the newest pattern!

Let me tell you a little bit about it.....there are pleats on the bodice...

...it wraps in the back (I'm keeping my promise of no plackets, buttonholes, or zippers in my patterns)...

(the scratched up face is from an awesome bike wreck she had this week)

...it ties on the sides with either ribbon or a fabric sash (it also looks nice on the older girls just knotted), the front of the skirt is flat and the gathers start on either sides of the pleats....

...and it's long with and heirloom feel, but it also makes an adorable shirt.

This one hasn't been hemmed yet, but I really like the look of an unhemmed dress! I'm always tempted to leave them this way and just let the girls go outside to run and pick flowers in them! Isn't that silly? It's like the hem is what makes it too dressy to run in or something. These dresses were made out of two old worn out, soft, soft, soft, bed sheets.

Perfect for running in! Spring and Summer are going to love this dress! So my only problem is the name. I want to name it after my little sis-in-law, Olivia Paige, but there is already a pretty popular pattern out there by the name of Olivia. Paige doesn't really sound like her since we usually call her Olivia, or Livy, but then Livy is too close to Lily (which could turn out bad when it comes to invoicing or confused orders).....is Miss Olivia Paige too long? What do you think about the name and the dress?

Alyvia is an alternate spelling for Olivia. So you could call it "Miss Alyvia". Still her name just a different spelling. Oh..and I love this dress! Is it going to be for infant sizes as well as the older girls? I think both of my daughters would look so adorable in this. :-)

To cute! I love it! I like Miss Olivia

Is the popular pattern the "miss" Olivia? If not, then I think that alone is enough to make yours distinct. But no, I do not think "Miss Olivia Paige" is too long.

Cute dress! I say just go with Miss Olivia if you want. :) I'm getting ready to sew up a Miss Madeline---anxious for my first run of your patterns.

How about "Miss Livy Paige". Not quite as long but still very pretty.

I like "Miss Olivia Paige" but think "Miss Olivia" would work well too. Your design is nothing like the "olivia" dress, so I don't think it will be confusing with the "Miss" in front of it.

And the dress is just beautiful. I love the pin tucks. They are so classic and pretty. And the back is so lovely too.

Your southern, and there is nothing more southern than a double name. I love Olivia Paige and would name the dress just that. It is a very pretty pattern. Can't wait to make it for my Maggie !

I love this dress! I think it might be one my favorites!

Pretty as expected. ;)

I think Miss Paige is nice, but there's also
~Miss Olive
~Miss Live (I like the idea of "living" in that)
~and Miss Livie is another way to spell Livy

I didn't read the other comments, so there's probably better suggestions already on the table, but wanted to put in my 2 cents...

And I totally see why you'd want to leave it unhemmed. That sounds so free. Wouldn't it pucker and slowly unravel in the wash? Or is there a way to fix that?

This dress is breautiful- I need the pattern soon so I can make it for my daughter for ehr birthday! Size 10-12 please!

This dress just says little girl. It is so sweet. Maybe you could name it Lady Olivia? Or Lady Livvie? Can't wait for this one to come out.

well there are at least two patterns out there named Olivia and neither one resembles this one so I still think a Miss Olivia would be just fine. I also don't think that Miss Olivia Paige would be too long. Either way I can't wait to add it to my "to make" list!
I'm about to dive into matching Miss Lily Easter dresses this afternoon :)

Love that dress. I would avoid using Olivia just bc that name is so attached to that pattern. I like the two word Ms. Olivia Paige or maybe you could give it a Bulgarian girls name in honor of your hopeful adoption.

I love it!! It's so beautiful! I only wish I could buy it for Easter...waah! I love it, and you could call it Miss Livy...or Miss Livy Paige. Cute!

What a beautiful dress! I don't think Miss Olivia Paige is too long, but I also don't think it would be an issue calling it "Miss Olivia", since the other pattern excludes the "Miss". :)

I like Miss Olivia as well! The dress is just lovely - I really like the way the skirt is quite flat at the front, but gathered at the back. Also the cross over back is fun!

You are so creative - I love all your designs!
Have a lovely day

New triple bunks.

Ben designed new bunk beds for the "girl's dorm" and "boy's dorm" in our house. We LOVE them!! We are almost done with all of the work, just a few loose ends left to tie up, but I couldn't wait to show off his handy-work. This is the girl set. We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo. The kids LOVE these beds! And oh the space we have now! I'll be back soon with finished pictures! xo, Sam If any of you make beds using these plans could you send us a picture? We ...

The Handmade Dress Infomercial: Do you suffer from scrached DVD's?

Do your children cry when they can't watch their favorite movie because of irritating scratches? Are you sick of paying good money for movies that are scratched minutes after you take them from the case? Do you often wish that we could just go back to VHS because you could leave them out in the rain, bring them in and use them for a coaster, and then let the baby throw it for fun and it would STILL WORK!? ME TOO ! . We have struggled for years with scratched movies that were no longer watchable, but not anymore! We have finally found the secret formula to rid you of this nasty little problem forever! . Crest Kids Toothpaste! YES, that's what I said! Kids toothpaste! . A few months back I heard some place that toothpaste would take of scratches and I tried it and it didn't work, then the other day out of pure desperation I tried it my way. IT WORKED! So I decided this kind of news could not be kept secret, I have to tell the world! So I ...

The Family Closet

It's another gray day so the pictures aren't great, but I wanted to get these posted since I have a few minutes. The family closet has changed my life people!! It has taken my most overwhelming chore from crazy to totally doable. We had to start in the laundry room because that is were most of this process starts. These storage racks went on sale for 69$ right after Christmas and we got 3. We also got several of the $3.50 Steralite clothes baskets because they fit side by side perfectly. In the laundry room I now have baskets labeled (Whites, Towels, Darks, Reds & Purples -we have a lot of those!) to separate clothes into, baskets marked "Clean" for clean clothes, a place for storage (extra dish cloths, table cloths, socks that need a mate). The laundry room is much less intimidating now, I actually like going in there! I also now have room for my drying rack in here! I painted a huge henna design on the wall to pretty it up a bit. :) The Caffee sign ...
