Homeschool Planner!


Finally! I have the Homeschool Planer uploaded!! You can read all about the planner HERE. I will have it on the Adoption website too sometime tonight after church. I'm offering the planner for adoption donations (you can give any amount, there are no set donations).

I feel like it has been a while since I have updated everyone on the adoption process, but....not much has happened really. We are still in the homestudy part of the process and basically just waiting on God to provide the money for us to move forward. It's a little discouraging at times and I have a feeling that it will probably get worse before it gets better. It looks like it will cost us about $30,000. We have a few fund raisers planned, but I think I'm going to need to plan lots more! I've been trying my best to come up with creative ideas...I think my next move will be to open another Etsy shop and sell a few handmade things a month. Besides that, all of the interviews have went really well. I was so afraid of them! Our social worker is just as sweet as she can be though so she put me right at ease. I know that God has a plan in all of this, and I know that we aren't the first family to walk this long hard road...that is very comforting. If any of you have an idea for a fundraiser please let me know! And if you like the planner please tell your friends, every little donation counts!

Maybe you could have people donate handmade treasures to your etsy store and also have people advertise it on their blogs, then have one big sale on a certain day. I think with a lot of advertising of why you are doing a big fundraiser you might get more traffic than just having things for sale all the time. I would be willing to make you some things to sell after the holidays.

That's a good idea-- you could also ask for the help of bloggers who have a lot of followers and a lot of traffic each day to advertise auctions for you. I would be happy to help host auctions but as I don't have many blog visitors it may not get the attention you need. People could donate items and they could be auctioned off either through your blog or someone else's. I would be happy to donate some things for you to auction.

New triple bunks.

Ben designed new bunk beds for the "girl's dorm" and "boy's dorm" in our house. We LOVE them!! We are almost done with all of the work, just a few loose ends left to tie up, but I couldn't wait to show off his handy-work. This is the girl set. We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo.
