I am so ready for Fall!!

I know that it is Fall, but that doesn't mean anything in the South! We probably won't see Fall colors until November. We got up this morning and it was just a little cool in the house, oh it was so exciting! So to make it really feel like Fall we built a small fire and let it burn out quickly so that we could smell that smoky warm smell all day. Oh it's so heavenly! Fall is our most favorite season!

Can you believe these pictures of my babies? I posted these in November of 2007. Oh sweet Jesus, has it really been two years? Can we just slow things down a bit? Please?

It's funny, reading a post that old kinda gives me the feeling of hearing yourself talk on an answering machine. Do you ever get that feeling? I feel like I am so different now, but in ways still exactly the same. I feel so much older, not in a bad way, but just in the way that I know more about myself and my family. I'm not new at this anymore and it feels good to be out of that "war zone" that is the first few years of motherhood. I feel kinda like I have "payed my dues". LOL! Maybe that's why I have so much compassion for new mamas. HARDEST YEARS OF MY LIFE! I could sit up and worry ALL NIGHT LONG over a cough. LOL! Now if one of the kids cough they usually hear something like "Could you cover your mouth? and  stop coughing so loud you crazy kid!" LOL! Wasn't this post supposed to be about Fall......oh well...

Today we are going fabric shopping and I'm really looking forward to stocking up on some Fall colors. I've already made Maddie a Fall dress and it is so cute, but the pictures will have to wait until tomorrow.....Happy Fall! xoxo, Sam

We had a hint of Fall here today too. I am in heaven. All my windows are open and I love that crisp feel in the air. I spent the better part of the morning pulling out our fall quilts and adding more Fall colors around the house. I have cinnamon spice candles burning and bread in the oven about to come out....no big surprise, this is another way we are just a like. This is my favorite season too!

Yep, Fall here too. Cold, leaves turning and falling. We even needed a little heat the other night, in the 40s.
How was the show???
Also, tell about your fabric shopping. What did you get?
And, I think I told you about making my dd a winter coat. It's done and on my blog. I'd love to know what you think.
Enjoy your shopping day.

The Handmade Dress Infomercial: Do you suffer from scrached DVD's?

Do your children cry when they can't watch their favorite movie because of irritating scratches? Are you sick of paying good money for movies that are scratched minutes after you take them from the case? Do you often wish that we could just go back to VHS because you could leave them out in the rain, bring them in and use them for a coaster, and then let the baby throw it for fun and it would STILL WORK!? ME TOO ! . We have struggled for years with scratched movies that were no longer watchable, but not anymore! We have finally found the secret formula to rid you of this nasty little problem forever! . Crest Kids Toothpaste! YES, that's what I said! Kids toothpaste! . A few months back I heard some place that toothpaste would take of scratches and I tried it and it didn't work, then the other day out of pure desperation I tried it my way. IT WORKED! So I decided this kind of news could not be kept secret, I have to tell the world! So I

New triple bunks.

Ben designed new bunk beds for the "girl's dorm" and "boy's dorm" in our house. We LOVE them!! We are almost done with all of the work, just a few loose ends left to tie up, but I couldn't wait to show off his handy-work. This is the girl set. We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo. The kids LOVE these beds! And oh the space we have now! I'll be back soon with finished pictures! xo, Sam If any of you make beds using these plans could you send us a picture? We
