I just can't stop drawing...and some shop news.

We now have a new header for the adoption blog too. Yay! It was really starting to bother me that the two sites looked so different. I didn't want them to match but I did want them to "feel" like the same family. The new header tells a little story of us. On the right is our home with us dreaming of more children and on the left is an orphanage with our children dreaming of a new family. There is a whole world between us, but there is a little broken and crooked path that connects us.
I seem to have most of the kinks worked out in the shop too (all but that pesky tutorial button! Why does that button have to be so rebellious?? It will only work on the Home page..that hateful button has been driving me nuts for days!). I would love to hear some feedback from a few Mac users. The new program promises to behave nicely with my Mac friends, we shall see about that. If some of you Mac-ers could look over it and drop me a line I would really appreciate it!
Now about Miss Iris! The pattern is now in the shop up for pre-order, and EVERYTHING will be 25% off for the next couple of days. The printer promised to have the pattern sheets at my door by the end of the week and then it will probably take me a day or so to package them, so I expect to be able to send out all of the pre-orders for the printed version sometime next week and I hope to have all of the PDF pre-orders sent out by the end of the week. After that I have a little embroidery pack to debut. That's what I was working on when I made these headers, so it will have that folksy feel to it. It will be a little "map" of our home, trails, creeks, and woods. I still haven't decided what to call it yet...I thought about something like "home and hearth" or "our little homestead" I need to work on that...Any ideas??

How about 'A handmade homestead' - because that what it will be - handmade by you and handmade by the purchaser!

I'm a Mac girl, and I can only get the tutorial button to work from the sewing page, but everything else is wonderful!

Hm...the shop does not work on my mac. Not sure why, but then I don't have any money to spend so that is probably ok. But all that comes up is a page saying that the shop is all 25% off and then a view cart button. Nothing else. Oh well.

But I love the "Handmade Homestead" idea.

I just found your blog, and I LOVE it!! I have a question; how do I pause your background music so that I can hear you speak on your You Tube video on gathering? Some blogs allow one to pause the blog music to hear tutorials. I cannot find or figure out how to do so.

Thank you for your wonderful inspiration! Jen

I'm on a Mac and while the site is infinitely better than it was (I was previously unable to see any of the patterns or add them to my cart), the initial pattern pages for sewing, crochet, embroider come up blank.

I love the drawings and of course, I love your patterns :)

Hey guys! Sorry I'm late in responding to you all. I really can't figure the shop out. I've done about everything I know to do. Thanks so much for all of your feedback. It's so nice of you all to take the time to check things out for me!

Jen,
I don't have any blog music. I pulled up the tutorial on You tube to see if maybe there was music on my page there, but no music there either. Maybe it was another page open at the same time?? I've done that before...maybe that's it ;)

The Handmade Dress Infomercial: Do you suffer from scrached DVD's?

Do your children cry when they can't watch their favorite movie because of irritating scratches? Are you sick of paying good money for movies that are scratched minutes after you take them from the case? Do you often wish that we could just go back to VHS because you could leave them out in the rain, bring them in and use them for a coaster, and then let the baby throw it for fun and it would STILL WORK!? ME TOO ! . We have struggled for years with scratched movies that were no longer watchable, but not anymore! We have finally found the secret formula to rid you of this nasty little problem forever! . Crest Kids Toothpaste! YES, that's what I said! Kids toothpaste! . A few months back I heard some place that toothpaste would take of scratches and I tried it and it didn't work, then the other day out of pure desperation I tried it my way. IT WORKED! So I decided this kind of news could not be kept secret, I have to tell the world! So I

New triple bunks.

Ben designed new bunk beds for the "girl's dorm" and "boy's dorm" in our house. We LOVE them!! We are almost done with all of the work, just a few loose ends left to tie up, but I couldn't wait to show off his handy-work. This is the girl set. We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo. The kids LOVE these beds! And oh the space we have now! I'll be back soon with finished pictures! xo, Sam If any of you make beds using these plans could you send us a picture? We

A Wee Newborn Fairy Bonnet Pattern
