You didn't think there could be a Lily without an Iris did you?

(Click on the pictures to enlarge them)

Yes little Miss Iris has been in the works since Miss Lily, but I didn't think I could tackle the two at once so I spread it out a bit. Miss Iris should be done sometime in April!

Just like my twin nieces Lily and Iris , the two patterns look alike in ways but have totally different personalities! Miss Iris is a sassy little bubble skirt that will be ONE pattern for sizes 6mo-14! YES! Miss Iris fit on one pattern sheet so this one will not need to be separated into two size ranges!

Miss Iris will also have 3 different lengths for each size. The shorter length is cute and funky over leggings, the medium length option comes right to the knee and looks perfect with a tee and flip flops, and the longer version is perfect for the girl who needs below the knee skirts for school or church

Miss Iris can be done in cute funky fabrics for a more trendy look, the outer layer covered in tulle for the look of a tutu, or done in sweet vintage florals for a more girly look. You can dress her up or dress her down, she is adorable either way! The contrasting waistband makes it just precious over a personalized or appliqued onesie for babies and toddlers.

The skirts sew up in about an hour and are perfect paired with plain inexpensive tees. I also plan to include a few applique designs, but that's where you come in! What applique/embroidery designs would you like? I had in mind a butterfly, a flower, and maybe a little umbrella. What do you think?

My girls are just in LOVE with these skirts and they call them their tutu skirts. There was even a time when Maddie had to wear her tutu skirt to bed every night! I think she once went three days without letting me wash it! Thank goodness she had been playing indoors for those days or it could have been pretty bad! LOL!

I just couln't let the post go without showing you a couple of pictures of Maddie in the tutu skirt, boots and pj's. What am I going to do with this kid?? LOL!

I have more pictures HERE on flicker if you would like to take a look.

lol! what else would Maddie wear her tutu skirt with? Boots and PJ's are the ULTIMATE fashion accessory!

Look on the bright side - at least she is WEARING clothes.... my daughter went through a phase of running around in the buff...... (I am convinced my grey hair started during this time).

so you give your Maddie a big hug and be VERY thankful :0D

yes- I second that about wearing clothes. My dd didn't stay in anything else but panties til she hit 3 1/2. LOL I think kids clothes should be like costumes- whatever they want- you are only a kid once. Both girls are so cute. I want to shrink my 25yr back down.

Hee! My youngest son would do that with his halloween costumes, not take them off (except to bathe and church ) until almost Thanksgiving.

Sigh, he's 17 now and into the Johnny Cash all black look. Bless the dears they do grow out of it eventually.

Love you and your blog samantha. God bless you and yours.

How cute. Love it. As for applique designs we have been into birds lately and owls seem very popular. Your strawberry is still my favorite.

Thanks so much for your tutorial on gathering. I had my AHA moment this afternoon in regards to sewing gathers. You asked us to let you know if there were any other techniques we would like to see. I would love to see a zipper technique I am still not very good at those.
Thanks again, Melissa

How do you come up with these cute ideas??? I am just wondering how do you size your little ones? I have some dresses, in mind, but am not sure exactly how to make them the right size. Any help would be appreciated! Oh and can I buy patterns from you on here or does it have to be in a store?

The Handmade Dress Infomercial: Do you suffer from scrached DVD's?

Do your children cry when they can't watch their favorite movie because of irritating scratches? Are you sick of paying good money for movies that are scratched minutes after you take them from the case? Do you often wish that we could just go back to VHS because you could leave them out in the rain, bring them in and use them for a coaster, and then let the baby throw it for fun and it would STILL WORK!? ME TOO ! . We have struggled for years with scratched movies that were no longer watchable, but not anymore! We have finally found the secret formula to rid you of this nasty little problem forever! . Crest Kids Toothpaste! YES, that's what I said! Kids toothpaste! . A few months back I heard some place that toothpaste would take of scratches and I tried it and it didn't work, then the other day out of pure desperation I tried it my way. IT WORKED! So I decided this kind of news could not be kept secret, I have to tell the world! So I

New triple bunks.

Ben designed new bunk beds for the "girl's dorm" and "boy's dorm" in our house. We LOVE them!! We are almost done with all of the work, just a few loose ends left to tie up, but I couldn't wait to show off his handy-work. This is the girl set. We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo. The kids LOVE these beds! And oh the space we have now! I'll be back soon with finished pictures! xo, Sam If any of you make beds using these plans could you send us a picture? We
