Woo Hoo! A new dress and a free pattern.

I did a lot of sewing last week - thank you Jesus! I am working on a new pattern so I have made four dresses to get it just right. I will share the others later this week. This is Molly's strawberry dress. She loves the strawberry applique!
The dress ties over the shoulders and has a little curved bodice. The ruffle you see at the bottom is her little slip - just too cute! I really love how it turned out. This will make the perfect summer dress for the girls. Oh, and guess what! You can get the strawberry design for free! I am hoping to have this dress pattern in my shop as a download in a couple of weeks (let's just see if that really happens in the given time frame). I will try to have sizes 1-7 available. To get your freebie strawberry click HERE (or on the word tutorials at the top of the page), click add to cart (pattern is free), follow the prompts to download. I put this on a T-shirt too and it was super cute. I think it would be great on a bag too, or a skirt! We sure have had a lot going on lately! Maddie got her ears pierced after begging her Daddy for an entire day. She didn't cry she just whimpered a little until we put the mirror in front of her, then she gasped and said " Mama! Wook, they pix me earwings!". Molly and Tim drove the tractor last week. Start'em young! The chickens got promoted to the yard. Yes! No more chickens in the house! Are we up town or what!? I feel so high falutin! Molly lost another tooth. Tim caught his first fish. Maddie has been officially promoted to the big girl bed, and is lovin her life! No more gymnastics to get in bed! My Granny got Internet so she now reads my blog. Told you we were uptown! Granny got a Mac! Now Paw Paw wants to get on EBay. I'm kinda proud that he knows what EBay is. We got the opossum that has been getting in the trash, he sure was a mean looking sucker! Those things freak me out, he looked like a big rat. UUUUGGGHHHHH! Lily and Iris are sitting up, not for long but they are doing pretty good. My kid's drawers no longer have winter clothes in them. Thanks Kim! She came over last week and cleaned out the drawers while I sewed for her little girl. That was the best trade EVER. I made two outfits and a dress. We had a family girl sleep over (I will be posting about this later.), and a family reunion. I had such a good time! Tim is riding without training wheels!!!! You have never seen a four year old so proud! He can even take off without a push. Well That's all I can think of right now! Let me know what you plan to do with that strawberry. I would love to see pictures of what you all make with the freebies. I would love to post some on the blog. If you want to participate send them to mamacaffee@hotmail.com.

The dress and strawberry are as beautiful as the pretty Molly who is wearing it. How can you resist sewing for such pretty little girls? Well you can't! But you also need to post a picture of Lily and Iris. They must be getting big. And what a nice thing to do for Kim to clean out the winter clothes. I used to hate that job!
I still laugh every time I watch the famous "Maddie goes to bed video".

Oh Samantha - I LOVE coming here and drinking in the goodness and sweetness of your life. I'm continually blown away by your incredible talent, but I am just as impressed and inspired by the life you lead with your family...ahhhh...I know it must be hectic and noisy and chaotic at times, but it feels like peace and joy from your words and actions. Enjoy these wonderful extraordinary ordinary days!

LOVE the dress, the fabric, the curved bodice, the tie top, and the CUTE strawberry..PERFECT!! Let me know if you would like me to host a graphic (for free of course) to drive traffic to your site from my site to sell your patterns, etc...I'd love to help promote what you do...I really believe in it...in YOU...

Have a blessed Thursday...and savor those special magical moments...

Hugs and Blessings,
Becky S.

I love love love the dress. The curve downward on the bodice, the tie shoulders, the sweet simple fabrics. YUM! Glad your grandparents are enjoys the internet. My grandfather got his first computer when he was in his 70s! My grandmother would never use it, but he e-mailed his grandkids and Swedish relatives until he got really sick. He was the only tenant in the nursing home with a computer! LOL I miss my grandparents, so cherish yours for me, ok?

New triple bunks.

Ben designed new bunk beds for the "girl's dorm" and "boy's dorm" in our house. We LOVE them!! We are almost done with all of the work, just a few loose ends left to tie up, but I couldn't wait to show off his handy-work. This is the girl set. We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo. The kids LOVE these beds! And oh the space we have now! I'll be back soon with finished pictures! xo, Sam If any of you make beds using these plans could you send us a picture? We ...

The Handmade Dress Infomercial: Do you suffer from scrached DVD's?

Do your children cry when they can't watch their favorite movie because of irritating scratches? Are you sick of paying good money for movies that are scratched minutes after you take them from the case? Do you often wish that we could just go back to VHS because you could leave them out in the rain, bring them in and use them for a coaster, and then let the baby throw it for fun and it would STILL WORK!? ME TOO ! . We have struggled for years with scratched movies that were no longer watchable, but not anymore! We have finally found the secret formula to rid you of this nasty little problem forever! . Crest Kids Toothpaste! YES, that's what I said! Kids toothpaste! . A few months back I heard some place that toothpaste would take of scratches and I tried it and it didn't work, then the other day out of pure desperation I tried it my way. IT WORKED! So I decided this kind of news could not be kept secret, I have to tell the world! So I ...

The Family Closet

It's another gray day so the pictures aren't great, but I wanted to get these posted since I have a few minutes. The family closet has changed my life people!! It has taken my most overwhelming chore from crazy to totally doable. We had to start in the laundry room because that is were most of this process starts. These storage racks went on sale for 69$ right after Christmas and we got 3. We also got several of the $3.50 Steralite clothes baskets because they fit side by side perfectly. In the laundry room I now have baskets labeled (Whites, Towels, Darks, Reds & Purples -we have a lot of those!) to separate clothes into, baskets marked "Clean" for clean clothes, a place for storage (extra dish cloths, table cloths, socks that need a mate). The laundry room is much less intimidating now, I actually like going in there! I also now have room for my drying rack in here! I painted a huge henna design on the wall to pretty it up a bit. :) The Caffee sign ...
