Sick, but surprisingly productive.

My poor little Madeline is sick. She is acting fine during the day and I get my hopes up thinking I will actually get some sleep and she won't be miserable, but then somewhere between 1:30-2:30 am she wakes up. It's not pretty. It's really not. Then I have to give her a bath, and by then she is awake enough to ask for "a-rella" (Cinderella). So somewhere between 4:00- 5:00 am we fall asleep on the couch- I think I'm too old for the couch- and then Tim is ready to go around 7:30, if I'm luck he will last until 8:30. The good news is that since she feels great during the day I've been getting a lot done! Today we didn't go to church. So when I peeled myself off of the couch around 9am I started with 6 loads of laundry, got those folded and put away. Then I waded through my inbox (that thing scares me!) and got every last email in it's rightful folder. Oh, that felt so good! Next I cleaned up some, started lunch and dinner and cleaned that mess up. I love to get all my cooking done at one time! Then I started two more versions of "Miss Molly" for the cover of the pattern. I like the way they turned out. I made one all sweet and vintagey (I'm not sure that's a word, but I'm tired so just go with it. LOL!) and the other kind of funky and cutesy. I wanted to show that the pattern will work well for different styles.
The funky one is for Molly. I like the gold dotted (like dotted swiss) fabric, it adds a good texture. Well friends I'm getting sleepy, I better go finish up. Please pray for my baby. We really need some rest. Thanks mamas. ~xoxoxo, Samantha

Poor Maddie, I hope you feel better today. Poor mama, I hope you got some sleep last night.
The dresses are so cute. I love the polka dots, and I especially like when you use a contrast for the top part. It is a very versatile pattern. I know they will sell like crazy!

Oh, poor little Maddie (and Mommy!)! I hope she is much better soon. I will be praying for you when I am awake in the night with my little stinker who has some really bad night time habits lately! It will help me to have a better attitude about it and think of someone else! :) Praying you get some much needed rest today! Can't believe you are so productive when you are so tired! I'm impressed! Have a good day!

o, geeze, now I'm REALLY feeling guilty!!! I did not get my dress done this weekend and I said I would! I got lots of other stuff done - gutters cleaned, back step built, doors painted, deck railing partly finished - but no dress sewn! Ok, Ok, I'm going to go home and sew it TONIGHT!!! It doesn't matter that I also didn't get any cleaning done or that the sink is full of dirty dishes from all weekend of working - I'VE GOT A DRESS TO SEW!!!! I PROMISED!! Note: I DID pick out some fabric!

The dresses so far are DARLING!! Hope you get some sleep and Maddie recovers from her Mystery night illness!!!!

**I DID IT**I DID IT** well I'm working 11s this week so I only had 2 hours and I had to stop and talk to my son for half an hour and I was taking notes so I could do a good critique but **I DID IT**. In under 2 hours I dug some more fabric out, made the final decision, printed and traced the pattern, read - yes read - the directions, cut the pattern out and sewed the dress. I still have to hand stitch the lining down and add the trim but other than that it's DONE!

Samantha - you're a GENIUS!!!

The inverse curves fit together like a DREAM! And it is cute-cute-cute as can be!!! I will send you pics and my critique as soon as I can - hopefully later tonight!

THANKS!!! and really hope Maddie is better and managed to sleep thru the night!

I don't get over here as often as I'd like, but everytime I do I am just charmed at your projects and your little girls. God blessed me with sons, and I've loved every minute, but if I had had a little girl, I would have dressed her as you do yours. That's how little girls should look! Just added you to my blog list.

These are just the cutest little sundresses. We have quadruplet grandbabies (2 1/2 yrs old), and the 2 little girls would LOVE to have these dresses. Guess I'll have to find something for the 2 little boys, so they all will get something.

New triple bunks.

Ben designed new bunk beds for the "girl's dorm" and "boy's dorm" in our house. We LOVE them!! We are almost done with all of the work, just a few loose ends left to tie up, but I couldn't wait to show off his handy-work. This is the girl set. We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo. The kids LOVE these beds! And oh the space we have now! I'll be back soon with finished pictures! xo, Sam If any of you make beds using these plans could you send us a picture? We ...

The Handmade Dress Infomercial: Do you suffer from scrached DVD's?

Do your children cry when they can't watch their favorite movie because of irritating scratches? Are you sick of paying good money for movies that are scratched minutes after you take them from the case? Do you often wish that we could just go back to VHS because you could leave them out in the rain, bring them in and use them for a coaster, and then let the baby throw it for fun and it would STILL WORK!? ME TOO ! . We have struggled for years with scratched movies that were no longer watchable, but not anymore! We have finally found the secret formula to rid you of this nasty little problem forever! . Crest Kids Toothpaste! YES, that's what I said! Kids toothpaste! . A few months back I heard some place that toothpaste would take of scratches and I tried it and it didn't work, then the other day out of pure desperation I tried it my way. IT WORKED! So I decided this kind of news could not be kept secret, I have to tell the world! So I ...

The Family Closet

It's another gray day so the pictures aren't great, but I wanted to get these posted since I have a few minutes. The family closet has changed my life people!! It has taken my most overwhelming chore from crazy to totally doable. We had to start in the laundry room because that is were most of this process starts. These storage racks went on sale for 69$ right after Christmas and we got 3. We also got several of the $3.50 Steralite clothes baskets because they fit side by side perfectly. In the laundry room I now have baskets labeled (Whites, Towels, Darks, Reds & Purples -we have a lot of those!) to separate clothes into, baskets marked "Clean" for clean clothes, a place for storage (extra dish cloths, table cloths, socks that need a mate). The laundry room is much less intimidating now, I actually like going in there! I also now have room for my drying rack in here! I painted a huge henna design on the wall to pretty it up a bit. :) The Caffee sign ...
