Rae's Baby Tea

Almost done! I've got to finish the crochet lace on the sleeves, then start on the other one. Have I told you that the names are Iris and Lily? Kim do you like this as the centerpieces? I wrapped the stand in ribbon and made that bow today. What do you think? I will post a pic when I am done with them both. It looks a little sloppy right now, threads are not even cut! Sorry.

Oh my! That little dress is sooo adorable. Where did you learn to sew like that? Your workmanship is so delicate.

this is absolutely gorgeous!!!!
Beautiful work Samantha!! I can't believe how many posts i missed on your blog. Your husband is so hunky, lucky you!! I'll email at length tomorrow night, have a big craft fair in the morning & am coming off a migraine, so preparation hasn't been great. Even super Drew had to take a day off to help me/ do everything, to get the 3 girls to school & watch the boy. Love the sound of your bathroom, you must try & create a virtual tour/ images of it all. I dream of our own home, but it's Army housing for the next few years, which is fine, our children will be older & hopefully less into crayons when we finally paint our own walls!! Fingers crossed. Love Posie
That dress is is sweet

The Handmade Dress Infomercial: Do you suffer from scrached DVD's?

Do your children cry when they can't watch their favorite movie because of irritating scratches? Are you sick of paying good money for movies that are scratched minutes after you take them from the case? Do you often wish that we could just go back to VHS because you could leave them out in the rain, bring them in and use them for a coaster, and then let the baby throw it for fun and it would STILL WORK!? ME TOO ! . We have struggled for years with scratched movies that were no longer watchable, but not anymore! We have finally found the secret formula to rid you of this nasty little problem forever! . Crest Kids Toothpaste! YES, that's what I said! Kids toothpaste! . A few months back I heard some place that toothpaste would take of scratches and I tried it and it didn't work, then the other day out of pure desperation I tried it my way. IT WORKED! So I decided this kind of news could not be kept secret, I have to tell the world! So I ...

New triple bunks.

Ben designed new bunk beds for the "girl's dorm" and "boy's dorm" in our house. We LOVE them!! We are almost done with all of the work, just a few loose ends left to tie up, but I couldn't wait to show off his handy-work. This is the girl set. We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo. The kids LOVE these beds! And oh the space we have now! I'll be back soon with finished pictures! xo, Sam If any of you make beds using these plans could you send us a picture? We ...

Crochet Flower Tutorial

Click pictures to enlarge, and don't look at my ugly, unmanicured, stay-at-home mother of three fingernails! As promised this is my quick and easy flower tutorial. These make great hair pins or barrettes. They could also be used to decorate gifts, to spiff up some ready to wear clothing, and baby booties. Let me know all the ways you could use them! I used sport weight yarn and a size H hook. This pattern will work with lots of other hook and thread combinations, as shown above. Chain 6. Join with a slip stitch to beginning chain to form a "loop". Chain 3. Work triple crochet in main "loop", over yarn tail as shown, repeat three more times. There will be four triple crochet in each petal. Single crochet, then start next petal. Work five petals. Slip stitch to beginning petal. Now using the yarn tail that you have crochet to the loop, gently pull the center tight. To finish off pull yarn to back of flower, cut, and tie to yarn tail using a s...
