I'm knitting again and I need some help. :)

I need help from my knitting friends. I tried these booties yesterday, for a new baby boy that's coming soon, and they were just way too big for a newborn. Do you guys know of a pattern that is similar to this that works better for newborn feet? I would also like something that is seamed because I'm sooo slow with DPNs or majic loop. Got any ideas? Thanks friends! xo, Sam

I had that happen and I threaded a ribbon through the ankle area and could tie them on until baby could grow into them. Less likely to lose them in the grocery store that way too.

I love these- http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/classic-cashmere-bootees They are seamed, come in several sizes and seemed to fit my babies pretty well. Down side- you have to buy the book. But, every pattern in the book is adorable. And, heck, I'd be willing to mail it to you and let you borrow it for a while.

You can use a smaller yarn, or change the needle size, some times that works for me, I tend to be one to play around with a pattern until it's what I want. Those are cute booties, you can crochet a chain for the ankle also...

I started reading your blog about 6 months ago and I was under the impression that you were from a mid-western state. (Don't ask me why.) I was pleased to learn that you are from Alabama as I am from the SE region of the state. My first grand child (a girl) was born in November and she lives in the Birmingham area. I enjoyed seeing the car seat cover that you made. I work full time plus and find very little time to sew. My daughter and I are grabbing moments when we can to work on our baby's christening gown. You inspire me with what all you are able to do!

New triple bunks.

Ben designed new bunk beds for the "girl's dorm" and "boy's dorm" in our house. We LOVE them!! We are almost done with all of the work, just a few loose ends left to tie up, but I couldn't wait to show off his handy-work. This is the girl set. We stained them with colored stain and we really like how that turned out. It's almost the color of cranberries. I still need to paint the boards that are attached to the wall. I'm going to paint them the color of the wall so that it looks like the beds are floating. :)  This is the boy set while still under construction. We ordered new bunk mattresses, but they haven't come in yet. I will show you guys pictures when they are completely finished. We stained these green, it looks like the color of bamboo.
